Cheapest Campervan Rental Companies in Australia (2026): Daily Rates by Company

Kurz gesagt: the cheapest campervan rental company in our 28 October 2026 check was Elements RV World. Its 2-berth automatic Tandem was 29 € a day through Wanderlust (199 € for 7 nights) in June low season, or 209 € at the brand’s listed rate. Next came Awesome Campers (49 € a day through us), Travellers Autobarn (49 €), Spaceships (59 €), TREK Campers (59 €) and JUCY (59 €). The hi-top brands (MightyLITE, Mighty, Apollo, Britz) started at 89 € to 119 € a day. In November the same budget vans were 39 € to 49 € a day through us. At Christmas the cheapest was 59 € a day, and most budget vans had sold out.

Cheapest campervan companies by daily rate

Low season means 8 to 15 June 2027 for Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, and 9 to 16 February 2027 for Cairns, where the wet season is the quiet time. Each company’s cheapest result across those cities is shown.

The brand’s price is the operator’s own website for JUCY, Spaceships, Awesome Campers and the thl brands (MightyLITE, Mighty, Apollo, Britz). For the others it is the brand’s listed retail rate in the booking system we sell them through. We had no bookable rate below the brand’s own price for the thl hi-tops on these dates, so they say “ask us”: send us your dates and we will quote them.

What each company costs in November and at Christmas

Same method, 7 nights. November is 10 to 17 November 2026 (Sydney, Melbourne or Cairns return, cheapest per company). Christmas is 27 December 2026 to 3 January 2027, Sydney to Brisbane.

Prices are through Wanderlust unless marked as the brand’s price. The pattern held across every city: June is the cheapest month in the south, November is close behind for the budget wagons, and Christmas costs up to twice as much a day and sells out first.

How do I get the cheapest campervan price?

• Travel in the low season. June in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, February in Cairns. The cheapest van was 29 € a day in June and 59 € at Christmas.
• Pick a budget 2-berth. The wagons and people movers were 29 € to 59 € a day in low season. Hi-tops started at 89 €.
• Hire for longer. The daily rate falls with length: the Spaceships Alpha was 59 € a day for a week in June and 39 € a day over 12 weeks. See long campervan hire prices.

• Take a relocation if it fits. About 0,64 € a day, but the route, dates and days are fixed and fuel is usually yours. Are relocation deals worth it?
• Book through us. On 9 of the 13 companies above, our price was below the brand’s own, with no booking fee.

• Cheapest of all, automatic: Elements RV World’s Tandem. The bond is 3.159 € on basic cover; cutting it to 0 € was 179 € for the week.
• Cheapest from the big budget names: Awesome Campers, then Spaceships, then JUCY. Spaceships takes drivers from 18 with no one-way fee.
• Bond you can live with: TREK Campers’ Tandem includes 0 €-excess cover in its price. Campervan Village and Camperman include cover with a 319 € bond or excess.
